The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a policy aimed at curbing deforestation by prohibiting the import of certain commodities linked to deforestation into the EU market. The regulation will apply to products like cocoa, soy, palm oil, wood, coffee, rubber, and cattle, including their derived products.
By January 1st, 2025, businesses preparing and commercializing these products must provide proof that their supply chains are not contributing to deforestation or forest degradation, making traceability and sustainability vital components of compliance.
